When a person is employed he possesses a certain control in life. For example he knows when he needs to go to work and is also aware of the fact that if he does not go for work then he cannot financially support his family. This type of knowledge gives a person the control over his own life. But when somebody is unemployed then he lacks control over the way the things are functioning in his life, and this gives rise to stress.

Stability is a factor which makes it possible for a person to feel secure in his life. During the phase of unemployment, the lack of stability can develop stress among people. When we are employed then we know that we will be following the pattern of going to work and then come back to home, and this becomes a routine for us and when this routine life is disturbed then we naturally feel stressed. The stress occurs during the time of employment because everybody tries their hand at doing something new and there is a certain amount of risk involved in it. Whenever there is a scope of risk in any kind of work, then our body gets into the mode of stress. Stress becomes imminent in such situations because we do not know what is going to happen next and this makes the body tensed with stress. The situation occurs when somebody is unemployed because people do not know what he will do without the security of a job and the future seems to be very uncertain to them.

Most of the people who are unemployed anticipate about the worst thing that could happen to them if they fail to secure a job and end up without a job all their lives. This anticipation gives birth to stress because a person thinks of the worst possible outcome and in some cases those situations are least likely to happen. People need to focus on their present so that they can erase the presence of stress during the period of unemployment. When you are unemployed you should look for methods through which you can acquire a new job, instead of getting stressed out about your past job. Try to enjoy the procedure of job hunting as it will help you to calm your mind and keep stress during unemployed at bay. One always needs to remember that the phase of unemployment is temporary and it will definitely help you stop yourself from getting stressed and disappointed
