Exercise Burnout

Exercise burnout can be defined as the exhaustion which is experienced by people after they indulge themselves in a strenuous workout. The basic cause for exercise burnout is because of the demands imposed by the exercise on the body and it requires some time for the body to get adjusted to the rhythm. This situation crops up if your body is not completely ready to take up the challenges thrown by physical activities. We tend to overload the body with these types of physical activities because we have to meet a deadline. These types of deadlines basically include attaining a slim figure for a specific occasion, etc. Other reasons which influences a person to strain his body beyond limits maybe due to psychological reasons, etc. Most of the people do not realize that they are suffering from exercise burnout. In order to trace the existence of exercise burnout, one needs to familiarize themselves with the warning signs that indicate the presence of exercise burnout. One can experience a dip in the level of performance when they are going through an exercise burnout. He or she might not be able to focus all his energies into the work, which would result in the decreased level of performance as compared to his past records. Lack of coordination is also considered as one of the warning signs of exercise burnout. Lack of coordination can be primarily noticed when the hands and feet cannot coordinate together during the time of a required task.

An exercise burnout can increase the period of recovery after an injury. So if the injured area of your body takes more than the expected time for recovery then exercise burnout can be the cause for the same. Another effect of exercise burnout is that increased heart rate during the morning. Experiencing headaches frequently is also a sign of exercise burnout. If you feel lack of appetite for a prolonged period of time, then it may be due to exercise burnout. It is normal for a person to experience pain in the muscles during the time of an exercise, but if this pain prolongs for weeks and months then it can be warning sign of exercise burnout.
 
Many of us set impossible goals that need to be achieved through exercises, and this naturally leads to exercise burnout. Our goal might include losing a lot of weight, but when we fail to achieve those impossible goals then our minds are in distress, which is the emotional side effect of exercise burnout. The best way to stay away from exercise burnout is to undergo physical exercises in moderation. The intensity of the workout should be increased gradually so that the body can prepare itself properly for the same. And it is futile to compare your energy levels or physical capacity with that of your friends, as all of us are blessed with different capabilities and everybody possess a different kind of stamina. Exercise burnout can be easily avoided if a person does not overtly strain his body and when the exercises are done in a systematic manner.
