It happens to all of us at times. An evening of indulgence when we are not able to resist the delicious spread laid out in front of us and we say to ourselves we only live once. Hence, why not go ahead and indulge for once.
Fine, so you didn’t stick to your diet. Anyway you convince yourself further by stating that you couldn’t be eating greens and sprouts when everyone was gorging on the most wonderful of cuisines.
Well, it is done now so you could try to make amends rather than fretting over it for a long time. Do not continuously harbor feelings of guilt as these will be detrimental for your health. A good way to catch up is to have pineapple the whole of next day. Why pineapple you might think? Well, the pineapple is laden with enzymes that help the body to burn food with grease and fat faster than anything else. The older we get our body makes less of these enzymes, therefore, you can help it by eating loads of pineapples.
However, remember that pineapples too can work in moderation. If you forget or let go off your diet once in a month then pineapples can help you, but not if you do so every other day.
Another fruit that could come to your rescue is the papaya. Papayas too have metabolism enhancing enzymes. Moreover, you must drink plenty of water along with this.
The next day you can just eat watermelon the whole day. This will enable you to flush out the excess salt that your body might have retained and hence making you feel bloated.
On day three you could soak a few prunes overnight and eat them. After you have eaten these prunes you can eat strawberries and for dinner baked potatoes with their jackets on. The combination of these three foods will help you to get all the food that you have indulged in out of your system so that none of it gets stored as fat on your body.
And, lastly on day four you could eat grapes the entire day. Grapes ensure that any sugar that is stored in your body is utilized.
Hence, by day five you will be convinced that you have purged off your sins of having broken the diet. If you weigh yourself on the weighing scales you will notice that you haven’t gained a single ounce.
The next time you see people around you eating to their heart’s content you can eat a bite or so. Keep in mind to chew your food slowly and moderation is the secret.
So the next time you see people going berserk with food hold on and control yourself. This diet control measure will only work if you try it out occasionally. Keep in mind the triggers that made you forget your diet and the next time round keep away from them.
Do not let the guilt pangs take you over. Just make amends and continue with your diet.
