Home Remedies for Acne

Acne is most common problem and in case you are facing it then before going for some cosmetics or OTC products to fight acne, you can try any of the following home remedies of treating acne. These home remedies are from day to day use products have no side effects. These home remedies are known to be effective but the results can vary from person to person depending of skin condition and type. Now you must be aware of acne. Acne can not happen in case you have pure and healthy blood. Eat a healthy diet. Do washing your face with a herbal soap. Avoid oily or fried foods. All these things do help. You can also do steam facial. This will help opening of pores of the skin. Do not press and pop the pimples as this can cause scars.

 

Home Remedies for Acne

 

1. Oranges are always good for health as they are good source of vitamin C. We all eat oranges and throw away their peel thinking it to be of no use. But stop orange peel can take care of your acne problem. Orange peel is very good as local application for treatment of acne. To treat your acne, mix orange peel with water by crushing them on a piece of stone. Put this mixture/paste to the acne affected areas and leave it for overnight. Wash your face in the morning. Regular use can do wonders.

2. Lemon has always been known a one of the best home remedies for skin problems. We all very well know how good lemon water is for us. Besides drinking, there are many other ways by which fresh lemon can be used to treat several things and one of them being acne. Cut the lemon into two and rub it on the acne affected area and leave it over night. Wash your face in the morning with fresh water. Another way is to take juice from lemon and mix it with rose water. Now apply this mixture to the acne affected areas on your face.  Another home remedy with lemon is to take fresh lime juice and put it in a glass of boiled milk and apply on the face as a face wash. This takes care of pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin. Another lemon remedy is to mix one tablespoon fresh limejuice with one tablespoon groundnut oil and apply it on face. This prevents the formation of blackheads and pimples. These lemon remedies can surely take care of your acne without causing any side effects whatsoever. Further lemon is the most common thing and at most times, everybody has it in his kitchen.

3. Cucumber is another daily use thing. We all eat it in salad and its properties need no mention. Using cucumber on face has a soothing & refreshing effect on your skin. You can also treat acne with cucumber as this is one of the easiest and widely used home remedy for the treatment of acne. It makes our skin feel looking young. To treat your acne, crush the cucumber into a paste and apply it on the affected area. Leave it for 30-45 minutes and then wash it with water. Use regularly for fresh and refreshing skin.

4. Tomato is also a good source of vitamin C, which is known to be good for skin. Besides eating them, you can use tomatoes for the treatment of blackheads and to open the pores of your skin. For this remedy you have to cut the tomato and put /rub it on your face and let it remain like this for fifteen minutes. After the elapse of required time wash your face with water. This will induce the pore to open and clean the skin, which will reduce the blackheads. This treatment is good particularly for oily skin. This is one of the easiest home remedies due to ready availability of tomatoes and no special mixture is required. It is easy as you just have to cut the tomato and rub on your face. You can also use this regularly on your face with no side effects.

 

5. Garlic has always been known to have many kinds of healing properties. Use of garlic in food for taste and health has always been known to us but you can use garlic to successfully treat your acne problem. This remedy is also very easy to use. Just take garlic and peel skin and crush it and rub on the affected skin and wash off after 15-20 minutes. You can repeat it 3-4 times a day. This  will lead to reduction or removal of scars of acne.  Garlic as remedy is so effective that even chronic forms of acne can also be successfully treated with this remedy.

6. Eggs are also known to be effective to get rid of acne.  Take egg white and apply it on face and keep it overnight and wash with water in the morning. This will help you in preventing and treating acne. This is also very easy to use due to ready availability of eggs in household.

7. Aloe Vera juice is also an effective way to treat acne. Aloe Vera juice applied twice a day helps in healing of the scars of acne. Aloe Vera juice is readily available in most health and super markets.

8. Fenugreek leaves are also a good remedy in cure of acne. This is home remedy is also very popular for preventing pimples, blackheads and wrinkle. Take fresh fenugreek leaves and make a paste. Apply it over the face at night for 10-15 minutes and wash it with warm water. This will prevent pimples, blackheads and wrinkles.

9. Coriander or Mint also has properties to treat acne. Take a teaspoon of coriander juice and mix it with a pinch of turmeric powder and make a paste of this mixture. Apply this mixture on the face after washing it every night before going to bed. It is a very effective home remedy for pimples and blackheads. Even Mint juice can be used in a similar manner as instead of coriander juice.

10. Papaya is also very useful in taking care of acne and pimples. Make juice of raw papaya along with  its skin and seeds and apply on swelling pimples. This takes care of pimples.

11. Pomegranate is also useful for acne prone people. They are also used as home remedy to take care of acne, pimples, blackhead and whiteheads. Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomegranate skin and mix with fresh lime juice. Apply this mixture over boils, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

12. Honey is also used as home remedy for taking care of acne and pimples. Take 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and mix them to make a paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and let it remain on your face. Wash it morning with warm water. Using  this remedy for two weeks can make the  pimples disappear forever.

13. Ice is also very good home remedy for treating acne. Apply ice on your face before going to bed. The cold effect of Ice reduces the inflammation and burning sensation on the skin and gives relief. It also lightens the scars of the acne. Ice is always readily available in refrigerator.

14. Sandalwood Paste made of sandalwood powder with black gram pulse can be used on facial skin to treat the acne. Keep it overnight and wash it with cold water in the morning.

15. One can apply hot fomentation locally to open up the pores. This also brings out the waste from skin. After this the affected parts should be washed with cold water.

16. Nutmeg is also makes very effective home remedy for treatment of acne. To use nutmeg as home remedy, make a paste of nutmeg with unboiled milk and apply on area having acne. This has wonderful results and acne and pimples disappear without leaving a mark.

17. Neem (Azadirachta indica) is a clinically proven for vide range of skin problems. It contains Nimbidol and Gedunin, which have very good fungicidal properties. Neem is proven to be beneficial in skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, scabies, warts and even dandruff. It is extremely effective in acne treatment. Nimbin and Nimbidin have anti-inflammatory properties at par with many standard OTC treatments but without side-effects.

18. Corn starch mixed with water can be used as a mask to absorb oil from the skin.

19. People with acne problem should not wash face with soap and water. Rather they should wash it in the morning and night with lukewarm salty water.  Using Soap can worsen the acne as it is a drying agent but lukewarm salty water can reduce the acne by removing excessive oils without drying the skin.

20. Drinking of wheatgrass juice may remove acne.
