Bleeding nose occurs to many people at some point of time in life. It is common in children though it may be found in adults also. The air we breathe can make the membranes of the nose dry and they get irritated. This leads to crust formation and when it is picked, it may start bleeding. The blood vessels that line the nose have a tendency to bleed very easily. A trauma to the face can result in profuse bleeding of the nose. Sometimes it may be inherited or due to hypertension. Sometimes nose bleeding may indicate some other disorders such as bleeding disorders.
If the nose bleeding is occasional there is no need to worry. However, if the person has frequent nose bleeds, such as more than once a week and if the bleeding is heavy and continuous, it may be a sign of some serious problem. If this condition persists, consult a doctor without delay.

Amla juice is rich in vitamin C, which is a natural antioxidant which repairs cellular damage and treating nose bleeding. Vitamin C is also suggested to reduce the duration and the severity of cold that helps in stopping the bleeding.
- Putting a wet towel on your head to lend moisture to the membranes of the nose. This will help to humidify the membranous lining of the nose and can stop nose bleeding.
- Cap the bleeding side with wet cotton. In the place of cotton you can also use simple sterilized gauze. Remove the cotton or the gauze out after 10 to 15 minutes.
