Skin looking dry, dull, and rough and having wrinkles on it is called fatigued skin. The modern lifestyle, inadequate nutrition and stress can lead to skin fatigue. Stress triggers release of cortisol by adrenal glands. Cortisol causes or enhances skin problems. When you are stressed your blood vessels react by reducing the blood supply to vital organs, and skin is one such victims. This lowers down the levels of collagen and elastin in the skin. Ultimately it weakens the repair mechanism of the skin and skin fatigue occurs. Another main reason for a fatigued skin is poor diet. We eat more junk foods but not nutritious ones. Junk foods contain free radicals. They can reduce the efficiency of the body’s vital functions, and can cause illness. When the health condition is poor, it is reflected in the skin.

You should take foods containing omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 is available in fish such as mackerel and salmon. These fatty acids help moisturizing your skin. You should also protect your skin from the sun. It is not enough if you just keep away yourself from the sun rays. In addition your body should get certain antioxidants to protect your skin from the ill effects of sun rays. These antioxidants are available in raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and oranges. Include sufficient carrot in your diet as it contains beta carotone. This substance improves the look of your skin. You can get rid of wrinkles by taking fish containing omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seeds, lean meat and chicken contain protein that can prevent wrinkles and free lines. 


You cannot rest assured of good results just by ingesting nutrients into your stomach. If you want them to work well for achieving healthy skin as a result, you should avoid smoking. Skin is deprived of the nutrients and also oxygen by the smoke and tar. Therefore the skin becomes lifeless. Smoking also releases free radicals in your body system. These free radicals weaken the elastin and collagen fibers. This causes premature wrinkles. 


Your skin care regimen should also include cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing the skin. Good skin care products are available to fight the signs of ageing of the skin. Have your skin hydrated well with the help of moisturizers, particularly at night. The anti-ageing creams contain alpha hydroxy acids which can speed up cell renewal. Also, use creams containing retinol. Retinol releases vitamin A into the skin. Your skin tone and texture are improved by retinol.
