Oily Skin And Acne

Have you felt irritation, oiliness and stickiness on your face ? There is a strong chance that you might be having oily skin. And that means you are now more prone to acne than ever. Acne is an inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands, characterized by comedones and pimples, especially on the face, back, and chest, and, in severe cases, by cysts and nodules resulting in scarring. This happens when our body secretes excess oil.Cause of having oily skin may be hereditary, hormonal or related to your diet. The amount of oil produced in everyone’s body is different. For example, In teenagers , the body starts producing excess oil due to increase in the level of sex hormones. People with oily skin should take extra care to keep their skin pores from getting blocked as they are more prone to acne.


Acne can start from a minor condition to a serious skin problem. Keep these simple tips in mind to keep acne away. If you live or work in an area where your skin is constantly in contact with dust and pollution, make a habit of washing your face regularly, at least thrice a day so that the skin pores do not get clogged. Stop using all oil based cosmetics immediately. Cold creams , lotions ,alcohol based creams should be avoided. You can use an astringent to remove the excess oil if you like. Remember to take off your makeup before going to sleep. Improve your diet to include fresh fruits and grean leafy vegetables, cut off the fried and oily stuff. Drink lots and lots of water as it hydrates your skin and flushes out the harmful toxins. Never pop or squeeze the pimples as this can lead to inflammation and infection, even permanent scarring in extreme cases. If the acne spreads to your body, avoid wearing tight clothes. Benzyl peroxide has been known to kill the acne causing bacteria. Consult your doctor before using it though.


There is also the internal way of curing acne. Apple cider vinegar, Aloe vera and egg white masks have all known to be the best natural remedies of oily skin and acne. Remember there are other factors too like stress which might be the cause of that irritating acne. Medical research has shown that high stress levels increase the imbalance of the oil production in our body. You have to treat this problem in a holistic way. Try to concentrate on both external and internal cures. With a positive attitude and the right information , nothing is too hard . Change your diet and lifestyle in such a way that the beautiful skin you are dreaming of turns into a reality soon !
