Size Of Baby During Twenty Sixth Week

 

The weight of the baby during the twenty sixth week of pregnancy is about one and half pounds and the size is in the range of fourteen inches. By this time the baby will start to attain a little amount of fat on the bones, but it is at the last stage of pregnancy when a considerable amount of fat will be attained on the bones. The development of heart continues during this week. If you want to check the baby’s heartbeat then you can place the normal stethoscope on the belly, which will enable you to do the same. But if you are unable to hear the heartbeat with the help of stethoscope, then there is no need to worry as this happens with a lot of people and it necessarily does not mean that something is wrong with your baby. This is the reason that the doctors rely on the usage of Doppler for assessing the heartbeat of the baby during the time of pregnancy. 

 

Bodily Changes In Mother During Twenty Sixth Week

 

The nerves in the baby’s ears also go through a lot of development during this week as a result of which the baby is able to give some response to sounds. That is why the mother can often feel the baby’s movement, wherever there is any loud noise in the environment. This is the time when the parents prefer to speak to their babies because it is said that the baby tends to recognize people on the basis of their voices and smell emanated by them. The size of the uterus during the twenty sixth week of pregnancy is about two and half inches. The size of the uterus will keep on growing at the rate of one centimeter every week from now on. Putting on weight is quite common during this stage of the pregnancy. It is suggested that women should not check their weight on a regular basis because the weight keeps on fluctuating at this point mainly due to the water retention. As the baby bump is getting bigger, it is quite normal to experience back pain. Even pain in the legs is experienced by many women. The best way to take care of the cramps is to stretch the legs all the time and consumption of a balanced diet will help you in the long run. Since you are in the third trimester of pregnancy, it is very common to experience headaches due to the changes that take place in the hormones. 

 

Blood Pressure During Pregnancy

 

Increase in the blood pressure also takes place during the twenty sixth week of pregnancy. Swelling and headaches are the major signs of increase in the blood pressure. There are few cases where women tend to experience thyroid problems after the end of pregnancy, or some of them suffer from it before pregnancy itself. If you have been suffering from thyroid problems then you should discuss this matter with the doctor because it can be harmful for the baby.
