Skin wrinkles

A skin wrinkle as the name suggests is a fold in the surface of the skin. Skin wrinkles appear as one ages. Permanent skin wrinkling appears due to prolonged exposure to sun, aging or habitual face expressions and temporary wrinkling appears when the surface of the skin is exposed to water. With prolonged exposure to water, the outer layer of the skin absorbs water and begins to wrinkle. Wrinkles which occur on the skin when exposed to water results in pruney fingers and is also called water aging. In this temporary wrinkling of the skin the palms and the feet develop wrinkles. This is due to the water absorption in the keratin layer of the epithelial skin. The skin expands and results in increased surface area of the skin causing it to winkle. Even during swimming the tips of the fingers and toes are the first to get wrinkled due to a thick layer of keratin in that region and the absence of hair which secretes oil called sebum.

Permanent skin wrinkles reportedly are caused 90% due to exposure to sun. Use an SPF when ever you expose your skin to the sun, carry an umbrella to block the sun, eat a healthy diet, include in your diet lots of fresh vegetables and fresh fruits like water melon, musk melon and berries. Instead of coffee switch to drink that has cocoa as a key ingredient. Eat fish if you are a non-vegetarian and have lots of Soya if you are a vegetarian. Your diet should be rich in vitamins and proteins.

If you feel that your day to day diet does not have too much of the required amount of proteins and minerals then you may also wish to have vitamin supplementsand green vegetables are a great constituent of a healthy and a balance diet to avoid skin wrinkles so you really can not escape that. Alpha hydroxyl acid are natural fruit acids which remove the top layer of the skin which are usually dead skin cells, blackheads and white heads which reduces the appearance of skin wrinkles. Recent studies indicate that if your diet includes a high concentration of alpha hydroxyl acid it will help stimulate collagen production. Collagen production is important for your skin as it hydrates the skin which softens and smoothes the wrinkle prone areas around the eyes, the mouth and the forehead. Retinoids including retin-A is a topical solution for skin wrinkles. This treatment has not reported any side effects like skin burning and is a safe use treatment.

As a natural process of aging one might develop deep set wrinkles on the body which are mostly seen on the face, the neck and the arms. This is a result of sagging skin and exercising daily will help in toning the body and delaying the process of developing skin wrinkles. Vitamin C as a supplicant will also aid in reducing skin wrinkles along with specialised treatments for deeper skin wrinkles like botox, chemical peeling and dermabrasion.
