Sun Care

A sun care lotion is commonly known as an SPF, sun protection factor. Gone are the days when you needed to worry about damaging your skin in the sun. It is widely known that sun is the causative factor of a majority of skin problems. It is now ancient to carry an umbrella and roam around. It is so not in style. You do not need an umbrella these days, what you need is a sun care lotion or a sun care cream.

Excluding the fact that the base composition of the cream and the lotion is different, the major difference lies in the fact that a sun block cream as the name suggests blocks the sun but does not protect the skin. A sunscreen blocks the sun and protects your skin against sun burns. Sun burns can eventually lead to skin cancer. Needless to say, it is not what you want after applying a sun care lotion. Sun care can go far beyond the mere application of lotions, moisturizers and umbrellas.

You may also want to consider a sun care regime. A basic daily skin care regime requires cleansing, scrubbing, toning moisturizing or applying a sunscreen. Cleansing cleans your pores and rids them of impurities. These impurities become blackheads or white heads or at times they may also manifest themselves into major skin problems. Keeping your skin healthy is a very important basic aspect before you intend to maintain it and protect it from the sun. After cleansing you may choose to scrub. Always use a mild scrub and make sure you do not use it around your eyes. It is a fundamental fallacy of judgement if you think you need to rid the skin around the eyes of dead cells. This region is extremely sensitive and does not require you to scrub it. For the eyes, clean with a moisturizer as your eyes has to be well hydrated to abrogate any chances of premature wrinkling or the development of fine lines.

Now you should tone your skin to enhance the elasticity of your skin. An increased elasticity in the skin also delays wrinkle formation. Sun care demands your skin to be healthy for 100% results. Now you can use a moisturizer with a considerable amount of SPF for sun care depending on your requirements. SPF’s range from 10 to 50 and you can choose your SPF taking into account the climate and the strength of the sun rays in your region. People with an oily skin may choose to directly apply an SPF and abrogate the moisturizer. The sun care regime depends on your personalized needs. A good sun care lotion will protect you from the sun for longer hours; it has to be applied prior to the skins exposure to the sun. It also protects your skin against the damage caused by UVA or UVB sun rays. You are advised to reapply it after you swim or exhaustively perspire. Always discontinue a sun care regime if you develop rashes.
