The Famous Negative Calorie Diet

There are foods around that have a negative calorie effect. The dieter when they eat these food products does not include any calories and hence there can be no weight gain by eating these. This is because the calories and energy expanded in chewing, digesting, metabolizing and getting rid of these foods from our systems requires the energy that we gain by eating them. Hence, if you overdo this diet it will not be a healthy alternative. Too much of fibrous fruits and vegetables in your diet will leave you bereft of the other requirements of your body that is proteins and carbohydrates.
 
American doctors recommend that one must eat five servings of fruits and vegetables for women and nine for men per day. If you were to stick to this then you will automatically lose weight as the fruits and vegetables will fill you up and yet not allow you to put on weight. The water and fiber in them will work well for you. You will have no hunger pangs to fight with and still you will get your daily requirements of fruits and vegetables.
 
The negative calorie diet is a good diet however if it is taken to the extreme then it has detrimental effects on one’s health as sudden weight loss is not good. Fibrous fruits and vegetables are a must have in our diets but we cannot survive on these only.
 
Therefore, if you notice all the food that we eat has calories, some of them more and some of them negligible amounts of calories. Calories gained from negative calorie foods take longer time to break down and digest hence resulting in a tremendous benefit of helping us burn the fat from our bodies and still continue eating.
 
If we were to eat a sandwich which might consist of 500 calories however, to digest it we might expand only 200 calories. Now, the extra calories get stored as fat in our body. Where as a broccoli of 25 calories requires 80 calories to be digested and for our bodies to metabolize it.
